Nestled in the pines, at the end of beautiful Wallowa Lake is the Matterhorn Swiss Village, offering Swiss Style Cottages, one condominium unit, a unique gift shop called “Die Alpen” and “Kaffeehaus,” serving coffee, espresso, and ice cream.

Matterhorn Swiss Village is located in the Wallowa Mountains, in Northeast Oregon. Wallowa County, rich in Native American lore, is truly a land of enchantment! Here you will find a most spectacular domain with majestic snowcapped mountains rising up to 10,000 feet, over 60 beautiful high lakes, streams with lush green valleys carpeted with wild flowers. On the eastern boundary, the canyon known as Hell's Canyon may be found, a gorge deeper than any other in North America.

For sightseers, campers, outdoor lovers, hikers, backpackers, photographers, explorers, hunters, and skiers, this is a most unique place to visit. For the fishermen, there are bountiful lakes, rivers, and streams, offering various types of fish. Wallowa County also offers some of the best hunting around.

Some activities in the region are boating, swimming, water skiing, horseback riding, golfing, bowling, and a Tramway with a vertical rise of some 3800 feet. The ride takes passengers to the alpine meadows of Mt. Howard where an unsurpassed view of the mountains of the “Little Switzerland of America” will greet your eyes! The Wallowa Lake Tramway is located just across the street from us. Activities such as miniature golf, go carts, and horseback riding are within walking distance. Matterhorn Swiss Village is centrally located amongst all the excitement at Wallowa Lake.
